Post Spring Break

I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break and is well rested! If you’re like me and are not quite ready to break that sleeping in and doing nothing all day habit then here are a few reasons why you should be motivated to get back into school mode.

  1. You know you have that term paper or project due in a few weeks. Don’t wait! Get started on some research ASAP or putting together that project during those hours that you feel like laying around. Take the large assignments in chunks. That ten page term paper can be worked on by doing research one week and typing two pages a night the next week. You’ll thank yourself later when it comes to crunch time. While everyone else is in the library doing last minute work, you’ll have most of it completed so you can go out and enjoy the nice weather instead. Your mind and body will thank you later too.
  2. Start getting ready for finals! Keep those notes clean and neat so when you are studying for finals, they are easy to follow. Make sure that you don’t study alone, pull together a study group in your class that meets just to compare notes and quiz each other. If you can’t pull together any study groups then ask a friend to quiz you on your notes or flashcards.
  3. One of the most important things in my opinion is getting priorities straight. What’s going to boost your GPA? Hanging out with friends all week or making sure you get your work done on time? If you think the second choice is top priority then you are on the right path!

If these things just won’t motivate you then remember to keep your chin up and remind yourself that summer break is just six weeks away! Make sure you put in all your effort to your classes the rest of the semester or you won’t have the guilt hanging over your head later of having to retake a class. Good luck!
